To celebrate the The Fourth of July I went to visit my aunt and uncle in Virginia. We went to the movies and afterwards got burgers. The day would not be complete without fireworks. We spent the night by the James River admiring the beautiful lights in the sky. Besides that there was not anything else exciting that occured. We ended the week by returning back home and unpacking
The following week, my mom and I went to visit colleges in Boston. The trip there was horrifying, I had never seen so much rain in my life. You could barely even see the cars and lights in front. Once we arrived it all changed. It turned into quite a nice day. I got the opportunity to tour Boston University and walk around Boston College. I absolutely fell in love with both campuses. While in Massachusetts I also got to be a tourist and do some sightseeing.
I started my new job at Town Hall. I had gotten the job through The CBE program at school. I had not worked in over a year. The first week was quite nerve wracking but I ended up liking my work environment. I of course now had to wake up earlier which took some getting used to.
I worked my first full week with my given hours. It was more stressful than the last because I now had to cover for the receptionist who had the week off. I was still getting to know my way around the building and how to help people over the phone and in person. I ended my week by going to my last Warped Tour with my mom. She had taken me since I was 14 and it was so sad to see this music festival go away.
Nothing interesting happened this week. All I did was sleep, do homework, and work. I can surely say that it was not one of my favorite weeks of summer. I just followed my everyday routine. At least I got through some summer reading and earned money at work.
It was just another week of working and completing my school work. My weekend did get more interesting though. My aunt and uncle had returned from vacation and were going to be staying over with me for the weekend. During their visit we went to Brooklyn. I had never crossed the Brooklyn Bridge or actually walked around Brooklyn before then. It was sure enough a highlight of my summer.
For the first half of this week things were pretty calm and consistent. It was not until Thursday that things took a turn. I had to get surgery at the dentist. They had to cut a muscle in my mouth that was causing my teeth to shift. I had been told that it was fine to return to work the same day. When I arrived at the office I could feel the anesthesia wearing off and the pain started to arise. It was not a fun weekend.
The final week of august was not so much different from the rest. I worked Monday through Friday and finished my homework. On Sunday I did go and have some fun. My aunt and I went to Atlantic City for the day. While there I got to do some back to school shopping with the money I had earned working for most of the summer. Once we got back home we had no more energy in us. It was a fun day and an amazing summer.
