Aqueduct of Segovia

Facts

  1. Out of the remainingRoman aqueducts, this is among the best preserved.
  2. Throughout the years, it is slowly decaying due to factors such as pollution.
  3. Crosses from one side of the city to the next.

History

Built during the second half of the first century A.D., this aqueduct can still be visited today. Its purpose was to provide water to the people in the city. It remained in use until the 19th century.

Importance

Through the fact that the Aqueduct of Segovia has survived throughout the years, it has seen the city and what it went through. Therefore it was the political determination after the steps of the victorious armies.
